Marvellous Mandala

Good morning all, hope you’re all keeping safe and well this June morning.

I have created a card using the fantastic Create Beautiful Things stamp set for this blog post along with ultra-fine interference glitter and pastel pearls.

I stamped the half mandala onto the left and right edges of a 13cm x 13cm piece of white smooth stamping card and coloured with alcohol markers in shades of pink, turquoise and green but obviously you could use pencils or paints or your own choice of colours. This can then be attached to a piece of 14cm x 14cm so-ordinating background card and then onto the front of a 15cm x 15cm blank white card.

Stamp the medium sized mandala onto a piece of smooth white stamping card, colour and carefully cut out. Apply glue with a glue pen to some areas of the mandala ( in the small sample above you will see I have added the glue to the pale pink areas) and sprinkle with glitter, tap off the excess and leave to dry before attaching centrally to the front of the card with 3d foam pads or silicone glue. Attach a large pearl to the centre.

Finally stamp the ‘just for you’ and ‘with love’ sentiments above and below the central mandala.

Distressed Postcards

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog post. 

Today I'm going to be using Lisa's postcard background stamp as the main focus of a pretty card which would 

be suitable for so many occasions.

You will need: 

Lisa Horton Postcard background stamp

Lisa Horton Daisy Burst die set

Lisa Horton Trailing Foliage stamp set

Lisa Horton sisal

Lisa Horton Luxury Pearls - Rainbow Collection Cool Skies

Stamperia Roses and Laces paper

Distress Oxide inks (or your preference)

Paperclip and lace (optional)

Start by stamping the postcard twice onto some cream card. Holding the stamped image, tear the card edges 

towards you to reveal the core of the card on all sides. Next, use your inks to colour those edges - front and back 

as you will be curling the edges up.  Use Distress Oxides (old paper and just a touch of vintage photo) to give a

vintage feel to your project. I decided to make the postcard underneath darker with a touch of salty ocean 

Distress Ink. Curl the bottom right corners by rolling them around a pencil.

Next I used a portion of 1 sheet of Stamperia Roses and Laces paper pack. I tore the edges and inked them 

the same as the postcards. 

Mount the backing paper onto a cream card and tape the postcards on top. I added a heart shaped paperclip

(from my stash) too.

Stamp your trailing foliage and colour the leaves with ink. Use a brown pencil/pen to darken the stems and then 

cut out your images. (I stamped 2 of the smaller sections).  Slightly curl the edges of the leaves to add a more 

realistic look and then use 3d foam to attach to the edge of the postcard. Remember to only glue the leaves at 

the top if your flowers are going to sit in that area.

Take a little sisal and attach with glue in the area that your flowers will sit. Die cut your flowers - I usually cut 3 for 

each one to add dimension. Layer them up with 3d foam. I used Lisa's newest collection of hombre pearls to give 

a beautiful finishing touch to the daisies, and added a little paper lace from my stash too.

Flower Power

Hi everyone

Thanks for popping in to the blog today.

Today I am showing you a very simple, quick to make card which (I think) looks really effective.

So what do you need:

Lisa's Daisy Burst Edge Cutz Stamp set

Ink pad colour of your choice

Lisa's Daisy Burst Edge Cutz Die Set

Nested Banners

Wordage Sheets

Luxury Pearls

(or the beautiful new Rainbow Pearls)

My card base is 7 x 7 inches so the three pieces of card need to be 6 x 6, 5 x 5 and 4 x 4.

I chose to use the two largest flowers and then the next size down.

Randomly stamp all around the edge of the cards, using the smaller set of flowers on the top piece of card.  Then go around the edge of each piece of card with a Sharpie Pen.  This is a quick way of making a matted and layered look rather than sticking it to pieces of darker card, which of course you could also do.

I stamped out the three sizes of polka dot flowers and then cut them out using the matching Dies.

Then I cut out the smallest and middle size banners and cut them down to the size I needed.  Layered them up and then added a phrase from the wordage sheets.

Finishing touch was to add a pearl to the middle of the die cut flower and attach it to the nested banner/sentiment.

Butterfly Flourish Easel Card

Wishing everyone a very good morning and hope you are all managing

to keep yourselves busy. 

Here is a post to hopefully inspire you to

carry on crafting with Lisa’s amazing products.

For this project I have used - EDGEcutz Collection – Butterfly

Flourish, Mermaid Tails – Lilac Sea and Turquoise Tails and Be Happy

Sentiments DL Stamp Set

300gsm white cardstock, double side adhesive paper and lilac and

turquoise inks or paints are also required.

I used an 18cm x 13cm (7” x 5”) blank white card and trimmed to

16cm before folding the front vertically in half.

Cut a piece of white card 16.5cm x 6.5cm, stamp the ‘Be the reason..’

verse to the right side and attach with 3d foam tape to the inside

edge of the card.

Cut 4 x 9cm x 9cm pieces of white card and colour two pieces with

lilac and two with turquoise inks or paints or use coloured cardstock

if you have some. Cover each piece with double sided adhesive

paper, (do not remove the top layer at this point) and die cut two

large single butterflies and three tiny from lilac. One of each from

turquoise. Two medium one small and one tiny from turquoise.

Remove the top layer from the adhesive sheet and sprinkle lilac sea

mermaid tales onto the lilac butterflies and the turquoise rose tails

onto the turquoise ones. Rub into the adhesive and remove any

excess back into the pots.

Die cut the butterfly edge from a piece of white card 18cm x 12cm

Die cut the outer edge die from a piece of white card 18cm x 8cm.

Glue the medium sized butterflies in place before attaching the

fancy cut edge on top. Attach the whole piece to the front fold of

the easel card and trim off the excess card.

Die cut three large and one small single butterfly from white card

and attach to the corresponding coloured butterflies. Attach two of

the tiny butterflies to each end. Place one of the lilac butterflies to

the centre of the butterfly edge, place the turquoise one just to the

right of it at a right angle. Stamp ‘May your day…’ sentiment to the

left.

Arrange the remaining large and small butterflies to the left of the

‘be the reason’ sentiment and two of the tiny one’s to the right.

Embellish the bodies with pearls.

Mermaid, Mica, Paste and Pearls!

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well and staying safe during this weird time we are currently experiencing.

Honestly I thought this lockdown thing would give me oodles of time to craft but I really don't know where my hours go to each day.  We don't stay in bed late but the days seem to just rush by and before I know it, the weekend is upon us once again.

Gosh at this rate it will soon be.................  NO!  I am not going there! Lol

Anyway, did my blog post title intrigue you a little?

I wanted to show you a little project I did using all of the items in the title.

This did start out as a card to be sent in for the Design Team work for the last show but my texture paste didn't dry quickly enough so I set it aside to use another day, and here we are!

To give the texture paste a bit of interest I added in some of the interference mica powder that Lisa introduced recently.  I think I used the purple one, mind you it never looks like I expect it to. Lol

So once I had added the mica to the paste I dragged the paste through the bubblewrap stencil, one of my favourites.  Then set it aside to dry.  Now you can dry it with your heat gun but sometimes it bubbles if you get too close so my preference would always be to air dry it.

Next I went around the edge of the card with a sponge and some Distress Oxide ink in Spun Sugar.

Using Lisa's Four Point Blooms die set I cut out some flowers using the Bali paper pad.

Now I have to be honest here, I have TOTALLY pinched this idea from Claire Newcombe because I thought it just looked A-MAZ-ING!  

I cut two of the nested flag dies and added the white (not white, lol) Mermaid Tails glitter to the smaller one and layered that up on to the next size up.  Again I went around the edge of the larger one with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide.

I added some of the Gorgeous Sisal behind the flowers and of course I just HAD to use the fabulous new Cool Skies pearls for the centre of my flowers.  The finishing touch was one of the little phrases from the Wordage sheets.  I cannot tell you how useful these are. 😃😃

See how the texture paste looks different colours from different angles?  That's what the interference mica powders do.  Cool eh?

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that the flower in the middle does not have as many layers as the other two.  Well, that's because I got cocky and decide to cut my flowers without taping them down to the paper.  Not only did they move and not cut all of them, I have also dented one of the flower dies as the little leaf die moved underneath it!! Be warned - secure your dies if you want to make the most of both them and the paper you are using!! 😱😱😱

Easel Card By Tina Foster

Hello everyone, its great to see you're taking a look at my latest blog. Hope you'll enjoy creating this one with me. For this project, I've put together a very simple easel card using the fab new products from Lisa Horton. Of course, by using the lovely banner dies you can create any message and personalise too, making it extra special for the recipient.

 

Tools 

Nested flags die set

Four point flower die set

Mini alphabet banner die set

Start by taking (or making) a card blank.  The blanks I'm using measure 15cm x 15cm.  I always use 300gsm cardstock for the base card to make it nice and sturdy. Score down the middle of one half and use a bone folder along the crease to give a nice fold.

Next use the nested flags die set to cut 3 flags in your darker main colour shade. Cut 1 of the largest flags and 2 of the second smallest. Cut the contrasting lighter shade backing a little wider than your large flag (11cm x15cm) and stick onto the back of the flag leaving a border at the sides and top edge only. Now take some more white base card (15cm x 12cm) and stick this to your easel making sure when you lay it flat its the same height as your card. Wait to stick your flag onto this as you'll want to pop the strings of your banner between these layers when you're ready.

For the easel stopper cut a piece of the lighter shade of your colours measuring  15cm x 4cm. Stick it onto your card with foam tape leaving a white space underneath it measuring about 3cm. Add your 2 small flags, again with foam tape.

Next die cut your flower layers, your swirls, leaves and banner letters for your message on the card.

Put your banner together using glue. I always put the string inside the two layers for a neat finish.

Curl the edges of your flower and leaf die cuts with scissors and layer up your flowers with foam tape to add dimension. 

Stick the flowers in your desired position On the card, leaving enough space for your banners. Add your banner(s) securing on the back with 3d foam and pop it on to the easel with an equal margin at each side.  Glue the flourishes to the small banners and use foam tape to secure the remaining flower to the middle of the stopper.

Use a corner rounder to soften the bottom corners, and use Lisa's beautiful new ab pearls for a touch of elegance. And to add a little love to the message, I decided to pop on a couple of little hearts from my stash.

Butterflies make me smile.

Morning everyone.

This morning I would like to share with you a card I have made for Lisa's upcoming show on Wednesday 25th March at 10:30.

My card features the fabulous Daisy Burst Stamps and Die set as well as the Butterfly flourish stamps and die set.

In order to make this card I firstly masked off a section so that I could stamp my Daisy Burst stamps in two colour ways, Wilted Violet and Storm Grey Distress Oxide inks and using two sizes of the stamps.  Then once the ink was dry I masked off the part where I had stamped and made a narrow band either side of my stamping and added Wilted Violet and then moved my masking to make a second band to add Storm Grey on the outside of the Wilted Violet.

Next I masked off the whole section of stamping and stamped the Daisy Burst large stamp on either side of the first lot of stamping, again using Storm Grey.

Now, I don't know about you but sometimes when I am stamping I have a tendency to get ink where it shouldn't be or my stamping isn't as good as it could be!  So, what to do?

Well, this is where the butterflies come in.

Now I could tell you that I planned the placement of the sentiment and the butterflies but that would be a big fat fib! Lol

No, the nested flag die has been added where my stamping didn't quite work properly and I added the Smile sentiment which comes with the Butterfly Flourish Stamp set and added three of Lisa's fabulous shimmery pearls in the bottom left corner for a bit of detail.

The other butterflies are also covering little mishaps, even the little teeny weeny one in the top left hand corner.

So, when you have little happy accidents, because us crafters don' make mistakes lol, you can always just add a butterfly!

So there you go then, a quick masked butterly and daisy card.

Something Sweet your way comes!

Hi there.  Dawn here to share my first post as part of Lisa's fabulous Design Team.  I am extremely honoured to be amongst such awesome talent.

So today I am going to show you a card which features some of Lisa's wonderful products.

This image is part of a stamp set being launched on Lisa's show on Create and Craft this Friday 28th February at 9am and 2pm.

I have also used some of the gorgeous double sided papers which are on the show.

Now, see me, I would have to buy two packs of each set of papers - being double sided I would want to use both sides - well it would be rude not to now wouldn't it? Lol

The image has been coloured with my Polychromo pencils and I have to say the whole set of images are a dream to colour.

Right, I'm off to do a bit more colouring.
