MONDAY MUSINGS

Good Monday morning to you all.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend despite the awful weather.  Honestly one minute it is blowing a gale and raining so hard I couldn't see the end of the garden (and that's not far trust me) and the next it is bright sunshine.  No wonder we all end up with bad colds!

Anyway, did you all enjoy Lisa's live last night?  It did seem a bit weird having a Friday night live on a Sunday didn't it?  But then again, I don't mind what day of the week it is - I love Lisa's lives, whatever she is doing.

I imagine some of you have started receiving your parcels from the shows last week by now, I know I have.  Trouble is, I am fast running out of space to keep anything anymore. Lol

I think I had better actually get some of my old, unused craft stuff on some selling sites and see if I can shift some of it - need to find a way of getting more funds for my LHC addiction. I bet you all feel the same don't you?

I always used to buy lots of craft goodies and get them home, open them, check they were ok and then put them away never to see the light of day again! Lol  I know I am not the only one that has done that in the past.  These days however, I can honestly say that my Lisa Horton Crafts goodies get used on a daily basis.  Trouble is, I have made so many cards I don't have any room left to keep them. Lol

Aah well, third world problems eh?

Finally for today, another instalment of our Meet the Team feature.
This week we are getting to know a bit more about the lovely
LORRAINE

How many jobs did you have before you found your Dream job?
I had many dream jobs. First one was a window dresser followed by German teacher.
I secured a place at uni to study as a dental technician, but a five years of student life
wasn’t for me so became a draughtswoman.

Chinese or Indian
Eating at home definitely Indian but dining out Chinese wins, I cook on electric and can’t create the breath of the wok for an authentic flavour.

Fish and chips or pizza
I’m well known for turning out a good pizza

Surf or turf
Can I say both ? I love all seafood except oysters. fish, especially served whole, is my favourite
but I also like the occasional fillet steak.

Dogs or cats
We have a beautiful Springer Spaniel grand dog Ollie and he has us wrapped around his paws.

Sport or not
I am a Zumba addict and enjoy watching most sports other than golf

Music whilst crafting or not
Definitely no music, it would interfere with the deep conversations I have with myself about the project in process

Favourite film genre
The oldies are the best, as long as there’s no Sci - Fi .

What is your most favourite LH product
If I can only choose one it has to be the Ultimate, oh and all the goodies that are compatible with it ðŸ˜‚😂

What is your dream for the future
I hope that I can overcome my current health issues and return to the lifestyle I had before and continue being part of this amazing team.

So there you go.
I'll be back on Wednesday with a new project for you.

FABULOUS FRIDAY

 Morning all

Well, another Friday rolls around as they do! Lol

What absolutely fabulous shows Lisa had on Wednesday and Thursday.

I know Lisa was worried about this release because of the price and whether she had guaged the stock levels correctly but it seems that everything just fell into place perfectly and everything sold really really well.  I know it will be a huge relief for Lisa and once again on behalf of Lisa, Danny and Lily I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your continued support and purchases.  When you are a small company - and I think Lisa qualifies there - there is a fine line between getting it right and getting it wrong.

I know the whole of the Design Team absolutely adored this release, and I am sure you could tell from the fabulous samples that were shown in the group but it's so heartwarming to see the way you have reacted to it and purchased it in your hundreds.  Not only that, you also purchased other bits and pieces too, so again Thank You.

Technical sellouts!! Just awesome.

Well, I have had a lovely week off and spent some fabulous quality time with my two grandsons.  I'd love to have all 4 of them to stay but I just don't have the room sadly.  I'll have the girls to stay another time.  It's true what they say isn't it? The more time you spend with young people the younger you feel.  It really does my heart good to spend time with them.  They are such good boys (well, when they are here they are, lol) and we do have a lovely time together.  Could really do with winning the Lottery then I could buy a bigger house. Lol

I have had lovely family time but I have so missed your company this week so am looking forward to getting back to my lives next week for sure.

If you missed Claire's live on Tuesday here is a link for the edited version on our You Tube channel. (I know Claire had mega problems uploading it, but it is there now)

Now remember, Lisa is at Comic Con with Lily this Friday so the live will be on Sunday evening at 7pm and I am pretty sure she is going to be demoing with the gorgeous Alphabets so that will be something to look forward to won't it?

You can watch on our You Tube channel (best option)
or

So, see you Sunday at 7pm.
Have a great weekend.

PROJECT WEDNESDAY - TULIP GIFT BOX

Morning all
Well, today's the day that Lisa launches her Ulti-Mate 3d Floral Alphabet release.
I know it isn't the cheapest release but I do have to say it is exactly what it is portrayed as - an Ultimate collection.
It is a collection that you can use on cards, in frames, in scrapbooks, on home decor, for any gender, any age and any occasion.
If you can't afford the big bundle, why not go for the alphabet, numbers and flowers die set - your projects will look slightly different but equally as beautiful.
Show times are:
Wednesday 26th - 6pm/7pm double show and 9pm
Thursday 27th - 10am and 2pm
Hope you all manage to bag what you want. I've ordered mine! 😉

So, with it being Wednesday we are here with another fabulous project.
This gorgeous project is brought to you by our lovely Mary Kelly.
Take it away Mary.

TULIP GIFT BOX

You will need:

LHC Tulip Embossing folder and die
LHC Tulip Layering stencils
LHC Nested flag die set
LHC Ribbons and Bows Dies
LHC Layering garden rose stamp/stencils - sentiment
LHC Rustic Hessian embossing folder
LHC Satin card
White card – 300gsmColouring pencils/markers/paints
Die cutting machine
Scoreboard
Scissors
Scoring tool
Cropodile or hole punch or a bulldog clip
Ribbons
Guillotine/Trimmer
Ultimate
Coloured inks for blending and stamping

Step 1:

Take a piece of A4 card and along the long side score at 2 ½ inches, 9 ¼ inches and 11 ¼ inches. The last 1/2 section is the top tab. Rotate 900  anticlockwise and with the tab at the top score at ¾ and 4 ½ inches. Do this on another piece of A4 card – fold and score all lines

Step 2:
With the piece of card in the portrait orientation and the tab on your right cut up the first score line at the bottom to the first horizontal score. Cut the second score line to the first horizontal score and completely remove the small rectangle. Take a little wedge from the tab. Turn and repeat at the top. Do this for the other piece of card.

Step 3:

Lay the two pieces down so the tab overlaps and join together as shown:

Step 4:

Fold over tab on the far right and add glue. Then fold the left hand side over and it should meet perfectly to create a square tube. The bottom sections are going to form the bottom of the box. Trim a small wedge of three of the four sections as shown below. Fold the three sections in on one another adding glue as you go and using the full section to cover everything.

Step 5:

Your box will now have taken shape and its time to add the decorative panels. Use your stencils and dies to create your tulips – use whatever colours you like. I have chosen to decorate all four sides of the box but you might just do one.

Step 6:

To create the matt and layers cut four pieces of satin card 6 ½ x 3 ½ inches. The white layer should be 6 ¼ x 3 ¼ inches. Run the white layers through your machine in the rustic hessian folder. Matt and layer and add the tulips.

Step 7:

The top of your box has four sections which all have a top tab. Remove two of the tabs – make sure they are opposite to one another. Punch holes in the remaining tabs for the ribbon - alternatively if you do not want to punch you could close the top with a bulldog clip.

                                                                                Step 8:

I added some more decoration to the sloped top of box:

Wow, Mary this is fabulous.  Thank you for such a brilliant project and such detailed instructions too.

I do hope you will give this a go and then share your makes in the group. Can't wait to see them.

Okay, that's it for today.
See you back here on Friday.

MARVELLOUS MONDAY

 Good morning lovely people.

I trust you all had a fabulous weekend?

Well, what can I say about Lisa's Friday Night Live eh?

Wasn't it just amazing?  I could tell by all your comments that you were as impressed as the Design Team were.  Lisa was worried about the samples because of how she had to split everything but I think I can safely say that the Design Team knocked it out the park didn't they?

I am so excited for the shows on Wednesday and Thursday aren't you?  I think it will be quite busy but this time I do think people will wait for the bundle price to drop - whatever the bundle will be, Lol.

So, let's give you all the show details then shall we?

This is a One Day Special
Wednesday 26th October - 6pm & 9pm
Thursday 27th October - 10am & 2pm

I hope you all manage to get what you want.

FABULOUS FRIDAY

 Morning all

Well, as the title today might suggest - I think it is going to be a really fabulous day.

Housework day for me so at least everywhere will be nice and clean and fresh once that is done and out of the way.

We are both off to get our Flu jabs done today too - rather have the jab than the flu eh?

Then back home to do a bit of pencil drawing I think.  I haven't touched it for a while and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms.  I really need to get this piece finished otherwise my friend won't be getting it this side of Christmas! Lol.

Then, obviously tonight is the night - Lisa's Friday night live at 7pm!

Now, I know we all look forward to Friday night at 7pm don't we?

But, I can tell you that tonights live is going to be AWESOME!

I know you all know what is coming but seriously I really don't think you know just how AWESOME it is going to be.

If you thought the sneaky peeks were good - you ain't seen nothing yet let me tell you.

Lisa has done Alphabets before - and pretty fabulous they were too, all of them.

BUT - this is on a much higher spectrum.

This release is positively blooming with possibilities! (Did you see what I did there? Lol)

Here are the ways to watch!

Lisa Horton Crafts on FB

Lisa Horton Crafts on YT

Craftng With Lisa Horton on FB

So, 7pm sharp! Don't be late now!

Oh, and remember the stock is always loaded on a Friday BUT - I really think it will pay to hang on until the bundle price drops because it really will make a huge difference.  I know we all suffer from FOMO where Lisa's products are concerned but these will be around for a while of that I am certain.

So, I will see you all later at Lisa's place.  Bring a cuppa or whatever drink you usually have, get comfortable, draw all the curtains, don't answer the phone or the door - you will not want ANY interruptions for sure.

See ya later.

PROJECT WEDNESDAY - MIXED MEDIA BUTTERFLIES

 Morning everyone.

I hope today finds you all well and healthy?

Well, it may be cold and blowy outside but I really do enjoy this time of year.  I love to be out in the countryside taking in all the glorious colours of Autumn don't you?  It is only since I took up colouring and drawing again that I now look at things with a totally different eye.  As a child clouds were always white fluffy things on a blue background, now I look at them and they are more like, white, grey, pink and purple against a backdrop of blues, greys, pinks and even reds and oranges at times.  Trees are no longer green leaves on a brown trunk - but a wonderful array of rich reds, oranges, yellows, golds, browns, greens and  purples.  Next time you are out walking, just stop for a couple of minutes and take a look at the colour that surrounds you - it's mesmerising.

Anyway, moving on....

We have another wonderful Project Wednesday for you today and once again this is brought to you by the lovely Su.
What a gorgeous project - over to you Su.

For my project  today I have used:

Cloud 9 Blending & Pigment Inks
Texture Stamp Set
Postcard from the Edge Stamp
Florals Vol 1 Stamp set
Copic Markers B04-B01-YG17
Layering Stencils - Beautiful Butterflies
Butterflies 3d Embossing Folder and Die set
5 x 7 Card Blank
Cardstock 4 3/4 x 6 3/4 for mat layer

Part ink your mat layer with grey ink making sure to leave some white space.

Cut black circles x3 starting at 3 inches, going down in increments.  Then cut 3 circles in white card starting at 2 3/4 inches and again going down in increments.
Ink half of the white circles in Surf's Up blending ink and the other half in Woodland Moss Blending Ink.

Then ink over the Woodland Moss with Juicy Pineapple blending ink.

Use the text stamp from the Textures set to stamp onto the coloured circles using Picket Fence.

Next, stamp text onto the card mat using black pigment ink and also stamp some ink splotches onto the same card with grey blending ink.

Inking just the postmark in the corner of the postcard stamp - stamp three postmarks in black pigment as shown.

Ink up half of the small texture stamp and stamp in a line down the mat layer as shown.

Next stamp flowers and foliage down the same line as the texture stamp line.

Then colour in the flowers and the foliage with your alcohol markers - or chosen medium.

Next, glue the coloured circles on to the black circles and then adhere them to your artwork layer.
Adhere the large circle flat to the card, then raise the smallest circle on foam tape and add as shown.
Place the middle circle as shown.

Using the Butterfly stencils, ink a solid butterfly in Strawberry sundae and then stencil all the other layers in black pigment ink.

Die Cut and Emboss the butterfly.

Ink the outer edge of your card blank with black pirgment ink

Then add your artwork to the base card.  Attach the butterfly and the sentiment with foam pads.  Finally, I added some glaze to the butterfly.

What a stunning card Su.  Thanks so much.

So, are you going to give this one a go?  I think it is a great idea, might just have to have a go at this one myself. Lol

In case you missed my live on Monday, here is the link to watch the edited version on our You Tube channel.

I will add a link to Claire's edited video on Friday.

So, I think that's it for today.
See you back here on Friday.
