MARVELLOUS MONDAY

Good morning all.

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend?

I have been busy in my craft room having a sort out and a sell off.  I have so much stuff that I just don't use any more and it is silly to keep it on the off chance isn't it?  I mean it is a very small off chance to be fair and you know what they say - if you haven't used it for twelve months you probably won't use it again!  Well, I haven't looked at most of it for the last three years to be fair so I definitely think it is time to declutter.  Gosh it feels good to be seeing a little bit of space.  Mind you, I don't think it is going to take me very long to fill it again. Lol.

***

So, to business then.

We have a mega busy week again this week with our lovely Lisa being at Create and Craft with her World Launch of the stellar Modern Florals Box Kit.

I know a lot of you have already purchased it and all I can say is you won't regret it.

So let's get the ball rolling with our schedule shall we?

Monday 27th February

I shall be live in the Crafting with Lisa Horton Group at 1pm as usual and I will be using, of course, the fabulous Modern Florals Box Kit.

4pm and 8pm Lisa will be live on Create and Craft (just hope she has a voice!)

I really hope she gets some time to do some demos for you but I think the Box Kit will be flying out of the door if I'm honest.

Tuesday 28th February

Lisa will be back on TV live at 8am with whatever is left of the box kit (I'm thinking, not much, lol)

Then she will be on Craft Extra at 10am for an hour so don't forget to tune in for that.

Wednesday 1st March

Project Day on the Blog

Thursday 2nd March

I will be live in the group at 1pm as usual.  I may even use the box kit again, who knows? Lol.

Friday 3rd March

Lisa will be live at 7pm as usual, links later in the week.

FABULOUS FAST CRAFT FRIDAY

Good morning all

Happy Friday to you all.  Have you all had a good week?

I have had a fabulous couple of days with my two Grandsons.  I love spending time with them because they just make me feel so much younger than my years.  They chat away like the fabulous children that they are - I'm not saying I understand what they are going on about because it is all about the games they play on their Switches. Lol  But I listen to them talking to one another and to their friends on the games they play and it just makes my heart sing.

I am finding it really hard to believe that my eldest grandchild is 10 this year - I can remember as clear as day the day he was born.  I was like a cat on a hot tin roof all day long, just waiting for the phone to ring.  Lol.  I'm sure you all know that feeling if you have grandkids.  Now nearly 10 years later, I have four beautiful grandchildren that are the apple of my eye.  Easter will be the first time both the girls have stayed over with Nannie and Grandad and I'm a little bit anxious about that but I know we will all be fine because they are really good sleepers once they are down so roll on Easter I say. Lol.

***

Have you been enjoying the DT samples in the group?  Aren't they simply amazing?

I know I have said this before but Lisa's Design Team are the best in the business aren't they?  We have a really good mix of crafters and every sample that I see really blows me away.

I know that you are going to really love the fabulous Modern Florals Box Kit.  I'm not saying that as a DT member, I am saying that as someone who would move heaven and earth to be able to buy one.  The quality of everything contained in the kit is truly outstanding.  I mean if you can make a card out of a piece of vellum that stands up without bowing that has got to be a winner hasn't it?

***

So it is Fast Craft Friday again this week and I'm going to hand you over to our lovely Maria Moorhouse for another fabulous quick project.

I thought I’d do something inky for this Fast Craft Friday, great excuse to get my Cloud 9 inkpads out. Let’s see what I can come up with in 20 minutes or less.

For this project you’ll need…

Layering Abstract Squares stencils LHCAS043
Banner Sentiments Stamp & Die set LHCCD053
Butterflies embossing folder & die set LHCEF072
A5 Script Ledger stencil
Ultimate
Ink brushes
Black inkpads
Cloud 9 inkpads, Cobblestones, Spiced Plum, Tranquil Waters, Sugar Candy

Select a medium and small size butterfly dies and die cut masks from sticky notes.
Cut a piece of stamping card big enough for your butterflies, mine is 12cm x 18cm, this will also fit on an A5 card blank with a generous border. Press your sticky masks onto the card with the medium butterfly in the centre.
Lightly brush your 3 bright coloured inks around the butterflies, before inking the brushes up just check to see if there’s enough ink left on the brushes from last time you used them, you might be surprised.

Position the first of your abstract square stencils on the pegs in your ultimate and slide your card under the stencil, ink up your brush with plenty of the Sugar Candy ink and blend, your card is longer than the stencil so simply flip it around to stencil the other end, no need to match a pattern or anything with the abstract squares, easy.

Repeat the stenciling using the two other layering stencils, one for each of your remaining bright colours.

Now for the script stencil, this one doesn’t have peg holes so simply tuck your card and stencil up in the corner of the ultimate, stencil with the Cobblestones ink.

Remover your masks and reveal your bright white butterflies, I do love using my LHC dies etc in different ways. layer your design onto coloured card to match your ink colours, and fix onto an A5 card blank.

Choose another card colour that looks good next to your ink colours, use your black inkpad to stamp the Banner Sentiments and die cut, I know I used these on the last Fast Craft Friday too but they are a favourite.

Select your sentiments, ooh so many to choose from, add them to your design across the butterflies. I’ve glued to keep the whole project flat to save postage, but they would look great with foam pads too, maybe a few sparkly gems?

Stop the clock! 19 minutes 6 seconds, mission accomplished.

Thank you for joining me again, I hope you enjoy having a go at this project, would love to see it in the Crafting with Lisa Horton Facebook group.♥️

That's just such a fabulous project Maria, thank you so much.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY - PROJECT DAY

Hello all

I hope you are all having a fabulous week so far?

I am sure you have already seen it but Lisa has now loaded what stock she has of the Interference Inks, Hydrangea and Wisteria products that launched a couple of weeks ago on Create and Craft.

I know stock is limited so if you want it you'd best be pretty quick. Lol.

I am spending a couple of lovely days with my two grandsons during half term, something I always look forward to because they just keep me feeling a wee bit younger than I know I am.

This year will also be the first year that both the girls will be able to come and stay at Nannie's house.  Etta has just been that wee bit too small before now but she is becoming a beautiful, loving little girl and is so grown up now that it is time to give it a go and see how we get on.  I'm sure the boys won't like it but they have had Nannie all to themselves for quite a while now so it's only fair. Lol.

If you missed my live on Monday the edited version is available to watch on our You Tube channel.  Just click the pic below to watch.

It is Wednesday and you all know what that means don't you?  That's right, it's project day here on the blog.  So I will hand you over to the lovely Mary Kelly for another fantastic project.

Two Cards in one using the Build a Flower stencils and ink release 2!

You will need:
Ultimate
LHC Build a Flower Stencils and Dies
LHC Essential Foliage Stencils and Dies
LHC Blending Inks - (I used Shocking Pink, Sweet Violet, Margarita, Eucalyptus Leaves)
LHC Glue
LHC Squiggle Sentiments
LHC Stencils brushes
LHC Wonder brushes
LHC Satin card
White card
Black card
Trimmer
Scissors
Die cutting machine

Step 1: Stencil and die cut your flowers and foliage

Step 2: Cut a piece of white card to 10 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. Mark at 5 1/4 on both long sides. Draw a pencil line  - this is where you will line up your die cuts.

Step 3: Lay your flowers and foliage along the pencil line. Ensure you have a good balance across the card. Attach and leave to dry completely. Cut a piece of black card to 5 3/8 x 7 5//8 - this will be a matt layer.

Step 4: Cut your decorated piece of card at 5 1/4inches giving you two halves.

Step 5: Cut two sentiments. I used black satin card stock for the word ' birthday' and white and black for the 'hello'. Attach to the card front. Embellish if desired. Layer up onto the black card and attach to a card base - this can be made by folding a piece of white card, 11 x 7 3/4 inches, into two.
You have two cards for one!

Wow, Mary that really was a corker of a project.  I am definitely trying this one for sure.

MARVELLOUS MONDAY

A very good Monday morning to you all.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend?

Another cracking live from Lisa on Friday night wasn't it?  The box kit is divine, I'm not just saying that, it really is.  It just oozes quality and it will last you sooooo long.  If you thought those samples were good trust me you ain't see nothing yet! Lol.

The set for this show is going to look outstanding. (Not that it doesn't for every show, lol).  The DT girls that worked on this kit had the most fun I think they have had in ages.

So, if you can afford it, either by using Flexi Pay or even buying it outright, I can promise you that it will give you hours and hours of fun and the biggest stack of projects ever.

***

So what do we have on this week then?

I know I said I wouldn't be live today but my boys aren't coming until tomorrow afternoon now. They had a dental appointment that I was unaware of and as they had to cancel it at Christmas because so many of them were poorly they really need to go to this one.  So I will be live today and not on Thursday.

Monday 20th February

Dawn will be live in the Crafting with Lisa Horton Group at 1pm as usual.  Today we are going to concentrate on a few male cards - a nemesis to quite a few of us it seems.

Tuesday 21st February

Claire is back from her jolly so she will be live in the group at 2pm

Wednesday 22nd February

It is project day on the blog and we have another fabulous project from the lovely Mary Kelly.

I just want to give a shout out to Mary because she has regularly been giving me these projects to post for some time now and recently, directly to the blog which saves me oodles of time, so Mary, Thank You, you're a star and I really appreciate it.

Friday 24th February

Lisa will be live as usual at 7pm.  Links later in the week.

So that's your schedule of events for this week.

Finally, to our words of wisdom

FABULOUS FRIDAY

 Good morning all.

I hope you have all had a great week so far?

Well, it appears that quite a few of you have been waiting for the new inks to appear on the website for a while as they seem to be flying off the shelves.  I've got to be honest though, with these, release one and the awesome Interference Inks my stencilling has gone through the roof.

Did you see the live yesterday?  I showed the interference inks on Black Glitter Card.  Now that was a surprise I can tell you.  They did not react how I expected them to and I think Lisa was quite surprised too.  As I said in the video though, I think it is because you are actually inking the glitter rather than the black card.  Remember Lisa said that the Black Card is 300gsm without the glitter, then the glitter gets blasted onto the card so it sort of sits on top of the black rather than blending with the black.  Remember too that when you are using the blending sponges with the interference inks, they will feel a bit rough as you are inking glitter - no worries though as you can also use your Stencil Brushes with the interference inks. 😉😉

Anyway, it does give a completely different look.  Also, as the interference inks stay wetter, when you emboss your stencilling the ink transfers onto the Embossing Folder so if you die cut another image and pop it into your embossing folder you get a sort of shabby chic effect on your card which looks amazing.  All of these were happy accidents but I'm so glad I tried them as now I can get a totally different look on my white card by using the ink left behind in the embossing folder.  Win win!

Here is the link for yesterday's live - edited version - if you fancy having a look.

Remember, Lisa will be live at 7pm tonight as usual so here are the links you will need to watch.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY - PROJECT DAY

Morning all.

Well, what a start to the week eh?  Those of you who joined me for my live on Monday will know exactly what I'm talking about.  I mean, talk about nothing going to plan!! Apparently, there was an outage round the corner from us which affected most of the village so it was totally out of my control.

It's mad isn't it - it's not until something like that happens that you suddenly realise how dependent we have all become on our devices and computers.  It was really odd talking to everyone and not being able to see the full conversations like I usually do - not something I could do on a regular basis, that's for sure.

Still, we managed to get through it didn't we?  And for those who missed all the fun and games, the edited version of Monday's live is now available on our You Tube channel if you'd like to watch.

***

Well, it's Wednesday again and that means another fabulous project for you and once again our lovely Mary Kelly has come up trumps.

You will need:
LHC Hydrangea corner embossing folder and die
LHC Foliage Elements Embossing Folder
LHC Scalloped circles (optional)
LHC Textured card stock
LHC Satin cardstock
LHC Bold Phrases
LHC Build a sentiment - occasions stamps and dies
LHC Dewdrops
Ultimate
LHC Black ink
LHC glue
Double sided tape
White card
Ruler
Pencil
Scoring tool
Trimmer

Step 1: Cut and emboss the corner hydrangea. I have chosen to keep mine white but you could use your stencils to add colour.

Step 2: Take a sheet of Textured card and cut at 6inches to give two pieces 12 x6. Score along the long side at 6inches on both pieces. Fold and burnish to give two 6x6 cards.

Step 3: Cut from corner to corner to create a triangle. The left-hand card should be cut from top left to bottom right. The right-hand card should be cut from top right to bottom left. See pictures. My top tip is to lay your card in your trimmer and line up the points. I would also cut from the middle as cutting at the point can be difficult and may crumple the corner.

Step 4: Lay the two squares on top of each other and glue together to create your card base. You are ready to cut your layers. Cut satin card 5 ¾ x 5 ¾ inches. Cut this into triangles. Cut a white square to 5 ½ x 5 ½ inches and cut into triangles. Use the triangles you cut of the base card and trim to 5 ¼ x 5 ¼ inches and cut into triangles.

Step 5: Emboss the last layer - in my case blue, and layer all together and attach to card fronts. Cut the sentiment in satin card.

Step 6: We are ready to create the insert. Cut a satin card square 5 ¾ x 5 ¾ inches and a white layer 5 ½ x 5 ½ inches. Glue together. After the glue has dried cut a fingerpull using the smallest circle in the scalloped circle set. (This is optional) Use a ruler to ensure the semi circle is in the middle of the top edge.

Step 7: Lay down your insert with the hydrangea corner and trim to fit.

Step 8: Place your insert into your Ultimate and stamp the internal message.

Step 9: Add tape to the left hand inside front - keep to the edge/score line. Glue down. You now have a pocket for your insert. A gift card would fit really well in here!.

Step 10: Add the sentiment to the front and dewdrops to the hydrangea and your card is finished!
😅

Wow, what an absolutely stunning project Mary.  Thank you so much.
So are you going to give this one a go?
Remember to share your makes into the group if you do.
