Edgecutz Mini Album by Paul

Hello all. It’s me, Paul, back with you today.
For those that follow me online, you’ll know I love dies and mini books so here I combined the two crafting joys in one. I have used the Butterfly Flourish as my inspiration for this album.

The edger was used for pockets and I used the large butterfly for the tab lifts. If you want to see this album in action, I have filmed a walkthrough. If you want to make one, I filmed a tutorial. You can find it all here:

Flag Die Notebooks

Hi all! Paul here again to share with you a really easy project. Did you manage to get these flag dies? If you did, why not try making a little notebook. They are so easy and so much fun to make.

I started off by tracing the outside of the largest flag onto greyboard, cut it out then repeated so that I had a front and back cover. This gives a cover slightly larger than the pages to when it comes to mat and layer, you get a nice finsih. I dabbed some black gesso around the edges (marker pen would also work I'm sure). Then I cut designer paper to stick onto the outside and inside of each cover.

I then cut a number of pages from white cardstock. I used a cropodile to punch holes in the papers. I used one f the pages as a template on the cover to align the holes (as it is a slightly different size, align it with the paper you stuck onto the greyboard for a perfect match). A couple of book binding rings and ribbon and it's all done.

On my cover, I used the Spring Bloom stencil texture paste to add some dimension.

Tri Fold Screen Card

Hi there. It's Paul back here today with an idea for how to use your flag dies in a different way. I have cut three of the biggest flags in black and taped them together to make a screen shaped tri fold card. I then cut some designer paper from the next layer down from the digi kit 'From the Sea' by Nitwits. Then I printed a load of the images to go with it. I stamped the number die and Today in Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide and used the co-ordinating dies to cut them out.

It's far easier if you see me do it so I have filmed a tutorial for YouTube. Search 'Tri Fold Card using Lisa Horton Flag Dies' on YouTube and it should come up!

Some Summer Sugar

Paul here again and sharing something I have not done properly in years - COLOURING! These are from some new sets coming soon from Lisa and feature Sugar relaxing and having some fun. I have paired her up with some papers from a Nitwits digi kit and you may also spot some future die cuts too - BIG flag shapes!

The flag wasn't long enough to pop out the top and bottom of the image so I cut it in half length ways and seperated the two pieces.

Paul's Ink Tower

Woohoo! Here I am ready to share my first project on the blog. I am sharing with you a decorated ink tower.

I started by applying thick black gesso to all the pieces - there are a lot of pieces! Then I assembled the tower. I cut out cogs from a Tim Holtz thinlet set in black card and glued them on and used some of Lisa's new stencils to apply some texture paste. I covered it all in gesso again and allowed to dry. I added colour by splattering on some blue and purple pixie powders and spraying with water. Once dry, I then added a little Pebeo gold wax to highlight areas.

I must say, I have had one of these towers from Lisa for a couple of years now but this was the first time I decorated one and really enjoyed it. If you would like a tower, head over to THAT CRAFT PLACE where you can find this kit and many more.

You can see the top here which can be included or left out if you want a flat top.

Thanks for joining me today.
