WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY - PROJECT DAY

Good morning all.

WOW!  What fast moving shows they were weren't they?  Poor Adam, I don't think I have ever seen him look that flummoxed before!  Every time he went to do an update, they gave him another update in his ear.  And did you see Lisa's face every time they did stock updates?  Bless her - she always looks so shocked.

On behalf of Lisa and Danny can I just say thank you so much for always being so supportive of Lisa's brand and her product.  As a Design Team we are always blown away by what she brings but that doesn't mean everyone else will be the same does it?  So it is most gratifying that you all think the same as we do and that you love the product as much as you do.

I know that Lisa was exhausted after today's shows, 7am is such an early start and it was fast paced all the way through and 11am didn't seem to slow down much either did it?

I hope you all managed to purchase those extra 3D Embossing Folders too?  Weren't they simply brilliant?  For all those of you who wanted products to use for male cards must be absolutely over the moon, I know I am.

Well, it's Wednesday and we all know what that means don't we?

Yep, it's project day!!

We have another fabulous project from Mary Kelly today.

You will need:
Trailing satin flower stencils/embossing folder and die ( or another other corner of Lisa's may work)
Rustic hessian folder
Bold Phrases
Ultimate
Stencils Brushes
Wonder brushes
White card
Coloured card
LHC Inks of choice  -  I used Tranquil Waters; Sugar Candy; Woodland Moss; Juicy Pineapple
Glue
Foam pads
Trimmer
Scissors

Step 1: Cut a piece of white card to 8 ½ x 6 inches.  On the long side score at 3/4; 1 1/2; 2 ¼ and 3 inches. Rotate the card 180 0    and repeat the score lines. Fold and burnish all the score lines. The last panel on each side is the tab. Add glue to these and fold in to create a square column at each side of the card.

Step 2: Cut a pink piece of card to 5 ¾ x 2 1/4. Cut a layer to go on top to 5 ½ x 2.  Using the main flower section of the stencil randomly stencil the white layer using Tranquil Water. Add the layers together and apply to the background of the card base between the pillars.

Step 3: To decorate the pillars at the front and outside cut 4 pieces of pink card to ½ x 5 3/4. Run these through the rustic hessian embossing folder and add to the pillars.

Step 4: Stencil some more of the main flower onto white card using the Tranquil Waters. Cut out a sentiment from this patterned card using the Bold Phrases.

Step5: Stencil, cut and emboss your trailing satin flower.  Attach to the pillar front using foam pads for added depth. Secure the sentiment along the bottom.

What a beautiful project.  Thank you Mary.

MARVELLOUS MONDAY

A very good Monday morning to you all.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend?

Have you all recovered from Lisa's awesome Friday Night Live?

I know you love the new inks because the stock is flying and I just know you will not regret your purchases.  I mean obviously apart from the fabulous inks there are three fantastic 3d Embossing Folders, 2 with Dies and all with Layering Stencils.  People have been requesting these flowers for ages and now all their prayers have been answered Lol.

Lisa always says that she can tell when the Design Team like the product when she looks at all the samples that are sent in.  I think you will agree that the samples in the group these past few days have been absolutely stunning.  There are sooooo many things you can do with these products that you are only limited by your own imagination.  Remember that all the projects that the DT post are also there for your inspiration and you are more than welcome to use the ideas to incorporate into your own projects.

Right then, let's get on with all the details you are going to need to know for everything that we have going on this week.

Monday 6th February

I will be live in the Crafting with Lisa Horton Group at 1pm and I will be using one of the fabulous new A6 3D Embossing Folders which will feature on Tuesday's extra shows. (Details coming up).

Lisa's 3RD BIRTHDAY SHOW!!!!

How can it only be three years that Lisa has been out there as an independent company?  She has certainly taken the Crafting World by storm and has most definitely made her mark.  I'm so pleased that so many people are supporting her business by being a part of our fabulous group on Facebook, buying Lisa's product from Create and Craft and indeed from her own website.  She has numerous wonderful distributors that are also supporting the business and that number continues to grow month on month.

Not only that - but she was also named as Designer of the Year in only her second year of trading!! How fabulous was that?  Let's all see if we can make it two years on the trot shall we?

Lisa will be live with her 3rd Birthday Show on Create and Craft at 4pm and 8pm.  (I just hope there is enough product left that she can demo with! Lol)

Tuesday 7th February

Lisa is back on Create and Craft today with not one but three fabulous shows.

7am and 11am - this will be a different show - some returning favourites will feature quite prominently today but, of course, it wouldn't be a Lisa show without some fabulous newness now would it?

So on today's show there will be a trio of A6 3D Embossing Folders.  These folders are simply brilliant.  They are all background folders and the detail in them is outstanding, well it would be wouldn't it? Also, the price point for these three folders is just amazing!

In between those shows Lisa will be on at 8am with the remainder of product from the New & Exclusive which started on Monday.

Also today:

Claire will be live in the Crafting with Lisa Horton Group at 2pm today.

Wednesday 8th February

Project Day on the blog.

Thursday 9th February

I will be live in the Crafting with Lisa Horton Group at my usual time of 1pm.

Friday 10th February

Lisa will be live at 7pm as usual.  Links later in the week.

FABULOUS FRIDAY

 Good morning one and all.

I hope you have had a great week so far?

As you know I went visiting my littlest granddaughter on Wednesday afternoon as it was her 3rd birthday.  She is such a little darling.  Every time I passed her a present she said "it's proby Paw Trol" Lol, which translates into "it's probably Paw Patrol" - and guess what, she was right.  I did buy her other stuff too but she does love her Paw Patrol bless her.  We had a lovely couple of hours with them but because it was a school night we had to leave to let them get sorted for bed.  Still, a wonderful time spent with my best little people and I came away feeling fabulous.

***

So onto business then eh?

If you missed Claire's live on Tuesday it is available to watch on our You Tube channel.  Just click on the pic below to take you there.

Also, if you missed my live yesterday, that is also now available on our You Tube channel.  Again just click the pic.  If you missed it, you really should go and have a look at it - I used the fabulous brand new Interference Inks which are being launched on Create and Craft next Monday/Tuesday.  They are totally mind blowingly brilliant.  Don't believe me??  Go watch the video! 😉😉

***

So, it being Friday you know what that means don't you?

Yep, our Lisa will be live at 7pm and who'd like to bet on what she will be using? Lol

So remember there are several places that you can watch:

Lisa Horton Crafts on You Tube (the best option)

Lisa Horton Crafts on Facebook (Lisa's business page)

Crafting with Lisa Horton Group on Facebook

and of course,

The Front Page of Lisa's Website.

If you haven't had chance to watch the video that Lisa asked you to comment on, here's the link to that.  You only have to comment to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Finally, to our words of wisdom.

See you soon.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY - PROJECT DAY

 Morning all.

Well, what can I say about those fabulous new inks?  Weren't they simply jaw droppingly beautiful?  I can see so many of Lisa's stencils and embossing folders being adorned with those fabulous shimmering colours.  Don't they play some tricks with your brain?  Looking at a pink ink pad and getting a totally different colour on the paper!! AWESOME!

I've never seen anything quite like them before have you?

And then, on top of all that fabulousness Lisa goes and shows us the stunning new colours in the blending inks too.  Oh my word there were some glorious colours in that new set don't you think?  I have soooo many ideas going round in my head about which folders and stencils to use which colour with - mind totally blown!!

***

So today is my littlest granddaughter's 3rd birthday -  I cannot believe she is 3 years old.  Doesn't seem five minutes since she was born.  Sadly she was born one month before all the lockdowns started so they weren't able to get out and about to see friends as had been the case with the previous children so I think my daughter struggled a bit with PND.  Of course, I didn't realise because we couldn't see them either - it was only later when we were able to get together that I found out.  I felt so sad for her - struggling like that and having no-one to turn to.  Yes, she had friends she could talk to but there is no substitute for getting out of the house and meeting people in the flesh is there?

Still, she has done a fabulous job of bringing them up (as do all mums I know) and I am so proud of the young woman she has become and of course I am beyond proud to be a Nannie to my four wonderful grandchildren.  So we're off visiting this afternoon as her Chicken Pops (that's her name for it) have all scabbed over now so she is safe to be around (for hubby).

So, as it is Wednesday you all know that means a fabulous project for you to follow.
This week's project is brought to you by the lovely Mary Kelly.
(There are lots of pics with this project but it really does need them all so please don't be put off)

STEPPER CARD USING THE LAYERING PEONY DIES
You will need:
Peony Layering Dies
LHC Sugar Candy Blending Ink
LHC Mossland Green Blending Ink
LHC Cobblestones Blending Ink
LHC Bold Phrases Dies
LHC Blending Brushes
Embossing Folder of choice-  I have used the box kit one weave
White card
Pale green card
Pale pink card
Tweezers
Glue
Trimmer
Die Cutting machine
Scoreboard and bone folder

Step 1: There are quite a few dies in the Peony Layering set. My top tip is to number the reverse of each with a permanent marker to make things clearer:)   I cut all the pieces in white card and laid them out on a coloured page using the reverse of the packaging as a guide.

Step 2: I am going show how the peony layers up. I added some colour to  the edges of each layer using Sugar Candy Blending ink.

Layer 1

Colouring layer 1

Layer 2 - Match up the shape of layer 2 to layer 1

Layer 3

Step 3: Adding layers 4-7

Layer 4

Layer 5

Layer 6

Layer 7

Step 4: Adding the last 6 small pieces - I coloured these more heavily using the Sugar Candy by adding more layers of colour. These are optional - I have added a few to create more dimension.

Step 5: Cut the vase in white card and ink the edges  - I used Mossland Green and Cobblestones. Curve the vase slightly and add foam pads.

Now we can make the stepper card for our Peony Topper!!!!

Step 6: Cut a piece of 11 x 6 inch white card - I used pale green. Score along he long side at 1, 2, 5.5, 9 and 10 inches.
Fold until you get the base stepper shape - see picture

Side view of stepper card base

Step 7: To create the centre panel of the card cut two pieces of 4 x 6 ¾ inch pale green card. On one piece score at ½ inch and fold and burnish. On the other piece score along the long edge at ½ inch and 5 7/8 inch. Fold and burnish as shown in the picture. Using the piece with the ½ tab only join the pieces together to create the shape shown in the picture.

Use the ½ tab on the right of the top piece to attach to the straight edge of the second piece
Join together to give this shape

Step 8: To add layers to the centre panel cut two pieces of 3 ¾ x 5 1/8 inch white card. Run through the embossing folder and ink the edges.

Step 9: Attach the layers to the centre panel. Fold and place on the card base. Mark the centre point - there should be 1 inch on either side.

Step 10: Add glue to the tab on the centre panel and attach as shown

Side view of centre panel attached to the base

Step 11: To add the side panels cut 4 pieces of green card to 1 x ¾ inch. Cut 4 pieces of white card to 3 x 3/4, emboss and ink edges. Attach to front and back of card.

Step 12: To decorate the front panel cut a strip of pink card to 5 ¾ x ¾ inches. Cut a white layer to 5 ½ x ½ inch. Emboss and ink the white layer and add to front of card base. Cut and add sentiment of choice.

Step 13: Add the vase and peony to the centre panel - I used foam pads for added dimension.

Your card is finished!

Please note if your card is not standing properly then follow the steps below to make a little stopper for inside:

Stopper:
Cut a piece of 4 x 4 inch card and score at every inch. Fold and burnish to give an 'M' shape - see picture. Attach to inside of card base ensuring stays flush with bottom of card

WOW!  What a gorgeous project.  Thank you so much Mary.
