Hi All,
Well here goes with my first blog post - I've kept this one super simple and there's a little step by step tutorial below in case you fancy re-creating something similar yourself.
A card for any occasion.
Products used (and some sneaky
peeks of some of the amazing items
coming soon).
Lisa Horton Crafts -
Sunburst Stencil, Sisal,
Ticker Tape Phrases
Stuff from my stash - 6 x 6 card blank, water
based fine liner (pink), black card, watercolour
pencils (I used Derwent Inktense but any pencils
will do), distress oxide (picked raspberry) die cutting
machine, water brush, low tack tape, water spray,
black ink pad, glue.
- Tape your stencil to your page, use your water based pen to draw through the stencil (my tip is keep your pen at right angles to the stencil - it helps stop the pen slipping around and keeps it near the edges).
- Run your card and stencil through a die cutting machine with an embossing mat underneath to add a little texture and dimension to the card.
- Remove stencil and use a fine mist water spray to add enough water to make the ink start to bleed. Allow your card to dry before next step.
- Use watercolour pencils to pick out one flower and blend the colour out using a water brush.
- Slice your design into one square which is slightly smaller than your card blank and a rectangle which will be going inside your card.
- Stamp your chosen sentiment onto white card and cut out leaving a white border all round.
- Distress ink the edges of all your elements.
- Mount your elements onto black card.
- Assemble - use a bit of sisal under the sentiments on the front to add a splash of alternative colour and make them pop out of the page.
Presto - your card is complete, see, told you it was simple. :-)
Happy crafting everyone.
